The Felix Project
Description
The Felix Project is a London-based charity that rescues surplus food from the food industry, saving it from being wasted. We redistribute that food – which is good quality and nutritious – completely free of charge to stop people going hungry. The surplus comes from food suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, and restaurants. An army of volunteers and a small team of staff then check, sort and deliver this food to almost 1,000 frontline charities, schools, holiday programmes and emergency COVID hubs in London. Felix food helps hundreds of thousands of people, including the homeless, children in need, families on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the vulnerable and elderly, people who are shielding, keyworkers, domestic abuse survivors and refugees. In 2020, we provided food for 21.1 million meals, and our operation continues to grow rapidly. We have ambitious targets to redistribute 38 million meals in 2021 and 100 million meals by the end of 2023. For every £10 donation, we are able to redistribute 61 meals for those in need. Thank you for supporting The Felix Project and helping us feed London.
